The “Guitar Duo” is already known for its exciting acoustic experiments. Enthusiasm for other musical cultures already brought together the two musicians Ralf Siedhoff and Manuel Delgado in 1997. Flamenco guitarist Delgado and the world-jazz guitarist Siedhoff recognized similarities in the rhythmic concept and precision between South Indian Karnatic music and Flamenco. For their new CD "Crossing Roots", they were able to recruit the internationally famous mridangam master T. A. S. Mani, the founder of the "Karnataka College of Percussion" and the master drummer R. A. Rajagopal for ghatam. The “Guitar Duo” was accompanied musically by the singer Ramamani, wife of T. A. S. Mani, the flamenco singer Isabel Peláez and the Spanish percussionist Ernesto Martinez.
