For the past 15 years, the Bagamoyo Players have traveled through a great variety of the world's countries as representatives of their nation's traditional music. They have given countless concerts, theater performances and workshops on all the continents. Their music and dances are those of the various ethnic groups of their homeland. Ecstatic dances with the typical Tanzanian melodic way of playing the drums, many-voiced a-capella vocals and virtuoso solo pieces on the marimba and lyre are included in their program. Time and again, the rituals and festivals of the Tanzanian people are invoked through the music. The long overdue CD by the Bagamoyo Players with the title of Tanzania is now finally available.
