This young musician from St. Andrews in Canada has played his way to an excellent reputation thanks to countless concerts at the world’s most renowned festivals. This is based mainly on his cleverly-planned live performances: LeBlanc plays both guitar and banjo, drums on the cajòn and djembe, while singing or playing harmonica – LeBlanc is a genuine one-man band. LeBlanc takes inspiration from musicians like Michael Hedges and Don Ross, and develops his own way of playing guitar with rhythmic elements, percussive slap passages and two-handed tapping techniques, which he blends to form a standalone artistic unity. He does this without boasting of his musical multitasking. The fact that LeBlanc modestly comments on his new fingerstyle on “Speechless” by speaking of “simple melodies and rhythms” does him credit, since their captivating liveliness by far surpasses the framework of a solo performance.
