On THE CLEAR BLUE SKY, the second Duck Baker album with Acoustic Music Records, with one exception (Soureba) there are solely original compositions to be heard, showing him to not only be an excellent guitarist on steel and nylon strings, but also an ingenious composer. "The Rakes of Waterloo" sounds Irish, "The Road to Richmond" is traditional American, "The Cure" is bluesy, there is a jazzy feeling in "Baja Maria," and "Amnesia in Trastevere" is abstract. Duck Baker's playing always has a relaxed atmosphere to it. And although his compositions are written in a completely logical manner and not to make them simple for a guitarist to play, he fascinates his audience with swing and groove. And - Duck Baker improvises, which is not a matter of course for a fingerstyle guitarist. "To put it simply: a masterpiece! ...from Irish jigs all the way to jazz and passing by blues-hued cuts... every piece has its own character... pure listening pleasure ... the highest marks are required here!!" (Concerto, April/May 1995)
