Mit Adriana Balboa, die aus Uruguay stammt, hat ACOUSTIC MUSIC ein großartiges neues Talent entdeckt. Die Südamerikanerin lebt seit 1994 in Berlin, wo sie ihr Studium an der Musikhochschule „Hanns Eisler“ abschloss. Seitdem ist sie als konzertierende Gitarristin international unterwegs. Ihre Musik spiegelt das Stimmungsbild des Rio De La Plata zwischen den großen Hafenstädten Buenos Aires und Montevideo wider. Charakteristisch ist die enge Verwandschaft von Lebensfreude, Leidenschaft und Melancholie. Die Interpretationen von Adriana Balboa loten die ganze Tiefe dieser Musik aus – von zärtlicher Poesie bis zu tänzerischen Höhepunkten.
Die gemeinhin übliche Trennung von populärer und klassischer Musik ist hier aufgehoben, Tango-Bearbeitungen im klassischen Flair stehen neben traditionellen Rhythmen und folkloristischen Themen. Adriana Balboas Debut „Sur“ modelliert das „Licht des Südens“ in ausdrucksstarken Klängen. Zu ihrem Repertoire gehören Kompositionen von Astor Piazzolla, Augustín Barrios oder Eduardo Fabini. Insbesondere die berühmten „Cinco Piezas“ des argentinischen Bandoneonisten sind ein Höhepunkt von „Sur“. Die Gitarristin spielt mit inniger Leidenschaft und lässt ein großartiges Bild der Gefühlswelt der Menschen vom Río De La Plata entstehen.

In Adriana Balboa, who hails from Uruguay, ACOUSTIC MUSIC has discovered a great new talent. Balboa has been living in Berlin since 1994. She completed her studies at the “Hanns Eisler” School of Music. Ever since, she has been working as a concert guitarist. Her music mirrors the mood of the Río De La Plata between the major port cities of Buenos Aires and Montevideo. Typical for her is the close relationship between joie de vivre and melancholy. Adriana Balboa's interpretations explore the entire depth of this music, from its gentle poetry to its dancing high points.
The common separation of popular and classical music no longer applies here. Tango arrangements with classical flair appear next to traditional rhythms and folkloristic themes. Adriana Balboa’ debut album “Sur” models the “light of the south” in expressive sounds. Her repertoire includes compositions by Astor Piazzolla, Augustín Barrios and Eduardo Fabini. The “Cinco Piezas” by Piazzolla, the great Argentinean bandoneon player are a special high point of the album “Sur”. Balboa plays with sensitive passion and creates a grandiose tableau of the feelings of the people on the Río De La Plata.
