BIOGRAPHIE

Dylan has developed an international career as an instrumentalist that has seen him collaborate with such great British musicians as Danny Thompson and Richard Thompson. He has also worked with the great Husna Arslan in Turkey, Canadian guitar virtuoso, Don Ross as well as Akash Deep in Rajasthan. In the last few years he has toured with the ground-breaking East European group, Szapora and recorded and toured with probably the finest contemporary folk singer in Britain today, Julie Murphy.
In October 2002 Dylan toured with the Music from The Northlands as the welsh representative and plans are afoot to record this project for release next year. His new CD ‘Ffynnon Ofor’ is now ready for release (Acoustic Music Records) and is scheduled for release in the spring of 2003-2005, to coincide with a solo tour in Germany. In his solo concerts, Fowler brings together a rich mixture of original compositions alongside traditional tunes from Wales, Brittany and Ireland. Add to this an interest in East European music and Jazz inspired compositions and you have the makings of a fascinating musical journey.

INFO
On “Portrait” we will meet Arabian tunes as well as South American rhythms and the Jazz influences of Bill Evans. And what‘s more, Fowler proves to be a master of the “lean” but hence even more effective arrangement. Fowler not only surprises by using exotic instruments like the mandocello or charango, but he also manages to summon an intense, chamber music like atmosphere - take the quartet of guitar, viola da gamba, violin and accordion in track 12 as an example of what makes it such a fascinating experience to listen to “Portrait”.
