Brad Richters Kompositionen entführen den Zuhörer in eine Welt des Klangzaubers. Seine Musik erzählt Geschichten und malt Bilder durch innovative Klangkombinationen und Notengefüge, die die typisch amerikanischen Motive seiner Stücke wiederspiegeln. So skizzieren seine Kompositionen Bilder von der Weizenernte in Oklahoma, lassen indianische Mythen lebendig werden oder fangen Szenen von Gedichten von Robert Frost oder T.S. Elliott ein.
Brads Konzerte, die auch bekannte Werke des traditionellen klassischen Repertoires einschliessen, kombinieren "blendende Virtuosität" , "amüsante Anekdoten, und wunderbar beschreibende und phantasievoll geschriebene Musik" .
Brads Publikum erlebt Konzerte, die sowohl unterhaltsam als auch bewegend sind. Brads „meisterhaftes Beherrschen der klassischen Gitarre und sein charismatisches Auftreten" machen ihn zu einem gern gesehenen Gast bei Publikum und Kritikern.
Heutzutage gibt Brad Konzerte in den USA und Europa als Solist, mit Sinead Pratschke und mit Kammerensembles und Orchestern. Die Tournee 2002 schloss unter anderem auch Konzerte in New York, London, Los Angeles, San Franzisko, Seattle, Las Vegas und Hamburg ein. Zudem findet man Brad bei Musik- und Gitarrenfestivals als Solist und Dozent. So trat Brad kürzlich bei dem Guitar Festival of Great Britain und dem Walnut Valley Festival in den Vereinigten Staaten auf, wo er das National Finger-picking Championship gewann, einen legendären Wettbewerb, der professionelle Gitarristen aus aller Welt zusammenbringt. Mit 32 Jahren kann er schon auf eine ansehliche Karriere zurückblicken, die 2002 durch den Einbezug seiner Biographie in die 5. Edition des Referenz- und Musikgeschichtsbuch The Classical Guitar -Its Evolution, Players and Personalities Since 1800 geehrt wurde. Wenn er nicht auf Tournee ist, findet man Brad zuhause in Tucson, Arizona, wo er an der University of Arizona School of Music unterrichtet.

Brad Richter was born in Oklahoma where he enjoyed lots of time outdoors, developing a love for music as he grew up. He bought his first guitar at age 12 and earnestly began teaching himself to play. At 18, Brad auditioned for the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. He was offered their Presidential Scholarship and began studying composition and guitar performance formally. After graduation, he accepted a scholarship to the Royal College of Music in London where he won two international performance competitions while earning his Master’s degree.
Since completing his formal education, Brad has performed throughout North America and Europe as a soloist and with duo partners such as Grammy-winning cellist David Finckel of the Emerson String Quartet. He won the National Finger-Picking Championship in 1999 and the International Composer’s Guild competition in 2002.
While at home in Arizona, Brad teaches at the University of Arizona. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kerstin and his son, Noah as well as hiking and playing guitar in the mountains and deserts that surround Tucson and have been an inspiration for much his music. Appropriately, several of Brad’s compositions can be heard on the Emmy Award winning PBS television series, The Desert Speaks.
