Der aus den USA stammende Bluesveteran Tom Shaka ist einer der ausdrucksvollsten Solokünstler der Szene. In den 90er Jahren veröffentlichte er fünf hochkarätige CDs bei solch renommierten Blueslabels wie Crosscut Records (Bremen) und Stumble (Hamburg). Anfang des neuen Milleniums unterschrieb Tom einen Plattenvertrag bei ACOUSTIC MUSIC, wo bis dato zwei weitere Alben erschienen sind.
Im Jahr 2003-2005 feiert Tom Shaka sein 30-jähriges Bühnenjubiläum und seinen 50. Geburtstag, und rechtzeitig zu diesen beachtlichen Jubiläen erscheint auf Stumble die CD The Very Best Of Tom Shaka. Das Album enthält 19 Titel, aufgenommen über eine Zeitspanne von 20 Jahren (1978-1998), inklusive 4 bisher unveröffentlichter Songs.
Tom Shaka ist nach wie vor hauptsächlich als Solo-Künstler unterwegs, spielt seine schweißtreibenden Auftritte auf internationalen Club- und Festivalbühnen aber auch mit befreundeten Kollegen wie Abi Wallenstein, Lousiana Red, Steve Baker, Angela Altiere, Henry Heggen und vielen anderen.

Over the past few years Tom shaka has increasingly begun to reap the rewards of three decades of paying dues on the long Blues road. Born in New England, U.S.A. (1953), he is one of the most soulfully expressive solo-artists currently active in the international Blues-scene. Based since over ten years in Europe, Tom released five CDs during the 90's on the renowned German labels Crosscut Records and Stumble Records. At the start of the Millennium he sighed with ACOUSTIC MUSIC. Blues Blood which teams him with his brother Bill Shaka and special guests David Honeyboy Edwards and Louisiana Red, was released in the autumn of 2000. The solo CD Bless my Soul followed in the spring of 2002. Both have garnered positive and enthusiastic reviews from the German, as well as the international Blues-press.
