BIOGRAPHIE Aus der Flut der Neuveröffentlichungen taucht immer wieder einmal eine besonders interessante Persönlichkeit auf. Neil Stacey ist ein solcher Musiker, der einen originellen Stil besitzt und sich wohltuend von der Masse abhebt. Dabei ist er nicht nur äußerst vielseitig und virtuos. Das besondere an der Musik des sympathischen Engländers ist seine gleichzeitige Begabung als einfühlsamer Komponist wie als begnadeter Arrangeur, mit der jedem noch so bekannten Hit seine ureigene Handschrift aufprägt. Neil Stacey - a guitarist who Pat Metheny describes as 'an excellent musician' - Sting’s guitarist Dominic Miller describes as 'brilliant', and whose playing Martin Taylor says is 'highly inventive, full of energy and beauty' – performs solo, duo, and in group settings. With his guitar he has toured all around the world and to date released 10 albums of his own projects. Neil’s musical influences range from Django Reinhardt, Steely Dan, Jimi Hendrix, Pat Metheny, and this is reflectyed in his playing, drawing comments from reviewers such as staggering version of Nuages … like Django meets Pat Metheny meets Pink Floyd. He has also recorded and guested on many albums, appeared on television and radio all over the world, composed for the BBC amongst others, toured with Martin Taylor, Sting’s guitarist Dominic Miller, as well as Acoustic Mania and his Hot Club inspired group, the Kimbara Brothers. His solo album And?.. was released by AMR May 2003-2005 and he will be appearing at Open Strings Festival and on the International Guitar Night tour this year. Watch this space! |
