Rainer Falk’s music glides with silky elegance into the ear. It’s basic line is a light and optimistic mood, an atmosphere of weightless space and bright pastels, that cloak the listener in a precious swath. Not that his performance is in anyway binding or shallow. Besides his impeccable technical realization, the phrasing of his notes is especially attractive, especially in the relentless “Groove”. This is the spirit in which to listen to cuts such as “Hip Hop Dance”, “Rush Hour” and “Gingerbread Man” – few musicians can handle the nylon string guitar in quite this manner.
