Beppe Gambetta – The Art of Flatpicking Guitar (DVD & book)

A fascinating journey through the world of flatpicking technique from the perspective of Italian guitarist Beppe Gambetta. Beppe explains the manifold aspects of this technique, from traditional approaches like the Carter style to more complex forms such as the “down-down-up” method employed in crosspicking. The trip starts with the necessary technical preparations, finger training and exercises, as well as covering back-up and accompaniment. The musical examples and arrangements are provided by traditional standards as well as Beppe’s original compositions. The DVD is rounded off by an introduction to improvisation and a selection of typical licks.
