The music of the European-South American trio “Terracota” mirrors a lively pictorial language that almost renders the sounds tangible and visual. Terracota‘s music is intense and sensual, intimate and atmospheric, sythesized influences between jazz and European tradtional music. Soft tones penetrate deeper. The two guitarists Véronique Gillet (Belgium) and Fernando Freitez (Venezuela), supported at times by the percussionist Carlos Franco (Venezuela), paint mood pictures of filigree rhythmic and harmonic structures on their TERRACOTA album. Spirited trio pieces in straight and syncopated rhythms played by guitar and percussion alternate with solo guitar interludes surprising the listener with their vivid character.
