Klaus Ignatzek is an old friend. Ignatzek, who was born in 1954, has, worked his way to the top of the European jazz scene with his 35 releases to date as musician, composer and bandleader. The base of his music grows out of the jazz-born hardbop; a tonal language which he knows how to put to good use in an all-round and distinctive way. His piano playing is replete with nuances and surprising twists. His brilliant technique and sheer inexhaustible inspiration makes it clear that he is an incontestable member of that Pantheon of veterans of his instrument.
Together with the Romanian vocalist Anca Parghel and Belgian bass player Jean-Louis Rassinfosse, Klaus Ignatzek has brought together one of the most interesting trios on the European jazz scene. The three of them have grown into a unit and often play together with a sense of freedom and equality, dipping into a repertoire that covers the complete history of jazz.
