Whether playing Irish style or bluesy, it always comes out as Franco Morone. With the three CDs he has hitherto released with Acoustic Music, this friendly Italian artist from Bologna has played his way all the way to the top of the popularity scale. "Running Home" is his latest solo album: 10 of his own compositions and two arrangements in the typical Morone style are rendered with his usual Mediterranean lightness on steelstring guitar. His Irish and American influences are not to be overheard here, though he never produces copies. Franco Morone proves his mettle not through virtuosity, but rather by means of his music. And it is made up of wonderful melodies, that now and then grow into tunes you cannot get out of your head. His percussive style ensures that his pieces always sound fresh. Sheet music and tablatures will be published for the CD in autumn. It’s a must for the fans of fingerstyle.
