Andreas Jaeger, who was originally inspired by pop and rock bands, later discovered blues and jazz. He consequently continued his learning at workshops with, amongst others, Larry Coryell and John Abercrombie, and finally ended up studying with Michael Sagmeister, the leading German jazz guitarist. Jaeger’s debut CD, produced by Michael Sagmeister, presents music in the fusion, blues, bossa-nova and samba genres. Jaeger plays with a polished, slightly erratic sound that testifies the guitarist’s blues roots. His lines are always elegant, but spiked with surprises and moments of tension.
Press review
"In addition, Andreas Jäger has experience as a pop & rock musician, and that is audible in his sound: it is open, somewhat off the wall, bluesy, lively. His concept of rhythm is personal, laid-back, Monk-like in its articulation, and it gives his playing a highly individual touch, within a context between jazz, Latin and funk." (Gitarre & Bass)
