Peter Autschbach - Summer Breeze

For many years now, Peter Autschbach has been considered one of the most multifaceted German jazz guitarists. This congenial Siegen-born artist – who once studied under the genre giant Joe Pass – has used variable styles and tonal diversity to create a rich vocabulary for the acoustic nylon-string and steelstring guitars as well as electric archtop guitars.

“Summer Breeze” focuses on a selection of pieces in the tradition of European jazz, colorful Latin swing and American fusion, whereby he is occasionally supported by the Italian singer Laura Perilli. In addition to his own compositions, “Summer Breeze” allows the listener to discover sophisticated interpretations of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Miles Davis, Richard Galliano and Johnny Mandel – arranged in a complex manner, full of unexpected twists and tuns and with a pleasant groove.Chords and melodies amalgamate here, with a cultivated tone, elegant solo-like phrasings and fascinating dynamics, to form guitar works of great radiance.
