Hussy Hicks - Raw

There can be no doubt about it, these two enjoy their lives as musicians to the fullest extent. Julz Parker (guitar, vocals, harmonic, bass, percussion) and Leesa Geentz (vocals, guitar, percussion), both from Australia, are supported by Rohan Hems (vocals, bass, percussion). What they deliver on their new CD is pure exuberance, honest, straightforward, independent and free.

It’s a very special and pure mix of blues, folk, singer-songwriter, gypsy and country. They play their own songs without any single genre, whereby Julz Parker introduces her guitar in a manner that is just as multifaceted as Leesa Gentz's  voice. The album features blues steeped in emotion, like the song “Trouble”, in which the guitar and voice skillfully trade musical lead roles. It is followed by the ballad “Catch The Glitter”, which is filled with warmth and intriguing harmonies and comes with a sober accompaniment. After that is a swingy “In The Morning”, some power songs and other delicate pieces. In each piece and each bar, the Hussy Hicks suggest they have a lot in store for the future.
