Funky, bluesy, jazzy – when three confirmed and famous musicians from Germany’s R&B scene release a CD featuring an organ trio, it’s bound to be a musical highlight.

Everything sounds spirited, blues-and groove-focused, and that is what makes it special, since one normally associates classic organ trios with traditional jazz music. The debut long-playing album, “First Take”, features seventy-four minutes of music, which become eighty minutes on the double LP thanks to two bonus tracks. Most of the cuts on this album were written by guitarist Gregor Hilden – who was also the initiator of this project. They are rounded off with a few classic gems. This is music that wanders along the edge of blues, soul, jazz, and is steeped in the technical moods and spontaneity of the three protagonists.
