One of Nora Buschmann's greatest assets is her ability to delve into the music of a country and then interpret it with tremendous virtuosity and lots of expository warmth. She is a guitarist, who has won many prizes, and a teacher at many German conservatories. Buschmann has selected some fine Brazilian guitar music that is sure to thrill not only ardent fans of classical South American music. The style is intense, elegant and cultivated, full of nuance and impressive dynamics, in short, it's a one-of-a-kind musical tableau.

The album presents many great compositions, like the famous Prelude No. 1 and the dreamy Mazurka Choro of Villa-Lobos, Baden Powell's Valsa sem nome, and an outstanding interpretation of Dilermando Reis's Eterna Saudade. There is also music by contemporary composers like Carlos Aguirre and Fabian Zeller. After thirteen solo cuts come, as a musical dessert of sorts, two duets with the Argentinian composer and guitarist Ricardo Moyano, for which Buschman turns to the octave guitar. A perfect conclusion to this recording, which is sheer delight for the ears.
