The album “Sin Tiempo“ of Chilean guitarist and bass player Enrique Diaz is, as one feels unpresumptously obliged to say, a brilliant masterwork combining jazz and world music in a most compelling fashion. „Sin Tiempo“, however, never sounds pleasing just to please, musical elements from foreign countries never occur just for pure exoticism’s sake. No, „Sin Tiempo“ rather requires the listener to be attentive from the first to the very last note - in short, Diaz’ music is full of surprises. No less outstanding is Enrique Diaz’ line up: with Charlie Mariano (sx), Markus Stockhausen (flgh.), Mike Herting (kb) and Michael Kuettner (dr) Diaz succeeded in skimming once more the cream off the „crème de la crème“ of the European jazz scene. This is only one of the reasons why „Sin Tiempo“ is simply utter delight, which will most certainly be much more than an insider tip in only very little time.
