A few years ago Tim Sparks caused an uproar in the guitar world with his most excellent adaptations of classical works. Especially his versions of Tchaikowsky's "Nutcracker Suite" and Bartok's "Rumanian Folk Dances" have always been received with unbelieving amazement since then. On "One String Leads To Another" Sparks travels back to his native home North Carolina, adding some spicy blues and country music to his new record. However, this guitarist is far away from being your average folk picker. On many songs we still meet Sparks, the Segovia student, inspired by classical guitar music. And, luckily enough, Sparks will never hide his great love for the music from the Balkans. What influences we will discover on songs like "La Soledad" and "Pata Negra"? Well, that's not too hard to guess. Just to complete the picture: Tim Sparks is an unequaled master of the steelstring, his craftsmanship as well as his musicality have reached a level which can be hardly matched by others. Something which is also true in regard of the pristine audio quality - who would wonder as "One String Leads to Another" is a typical AMR production.
