This brilliant combination of musicians brings together classical South Indian music by violin star Radhakrishna as well as western classical and furious jazz compositions played with such a virtuosity that it reminds us of the excellency created by the group “Shakti“ and at the same time gives a fresh and innovative impetus! Ahimsa in Sanskrit denotes non-violence (according to Mahatma Gandhi). The virtuous and soulful violin of S. Radhakrishna merges with the innovative guitars of Matthias Müller and the bass of Armin Metz, while being driven on by the highest developed art of percussion from both Southern Carnatic and Northern Hindustani India: on tabla Udai Mazumdar and on Mrudangam and Ganjira R. Yogaraja. Ahimsa started their successful journey on Vijayadasami Day in 1999. Ahimsa is a unique and deep fusion between Western and Indian musical art. Five brilliant musicians - two different worlds - one language.
