Ismail Türker – Istanbul... Istanbul

The title of the new CD released by Ismail Türker and his partners in music serves as the table of content. Turkish cities and sites are poetically and musically depicted. They range from Istanbul to Izmir in the south, all the way to the Lycian coast. This musical meandering through Turkey makes stops in cities as well as small villages, on sun-baked earth, in abundant bowers, beside the roaring sea. The Osnabrück artist, Ismail Türker, always surprises his listeners at his concerts with new constellations: at times he plays solo, or in a duo, or trio, or with a full band – this time, for “Saite an Seite,” he his presenting a new ensemble, the “Chamber World Music.” He is accompanied by Ingo Lohr playing meditative sounds and oriental rhythms on guitar on the ramble through Turkey. On board, too, are Martina Binning on double bass and Eva Gotthold with the violin and Carsten Nagel on cello. Come along for the journey, and let yourself be enchanted by the southern climes.
