Claus Boesser-Ferrari is one of those musicians who ventures beyond the boundaries of his genre.

His CD "Stageplay", provides impressive proof of this: the guitarist explores dimensions hitherto unknown in acoustic guitar music – and nevertheless constantly reveals his origins. Exciting, percussive sound expositions on Dobro, 6- and 12-string guitars, combine with virtuoso slapstick numbers, bluesy, oscillating, country picking tunes and velvety, lyrical ballads. Boesser-Ferrari composed most of the titles as sound tracks for drama productions at major European theatres (most recently Schaubühne, Berlin), Apart from his own compositions, we also encounter fragments from Gustav Mahler, Camille Saint-Saens or Jaques Brel. Boesser-Ferrari is the great narrator amongst guitarists. He produces contrasting and yet perfectly complementary musical worlds: serene but also exhilarating.
