Andreas Dombert / Chris Gall - Duo

Andreas Dombert (g) and Chris Gall (p) are a thoroughly fresh-sounding, easygoing team.

They have perfectly coordinated their playing for their new CD "Duo": the relationship between composition to improvisation could hardly have been chosen better here. Although they take many liberties, enough ordering work has been invested in advance so that the music can move and totally convince us. The composed parts are at times reminiscent of Debussy or Bartók, with improvised outbursts that sometimes even have the effect of rock music. On this duo recording, a rarely-heard instrumental combination coalesces into an impressive musical symbiosis.
