Uli Kringler - Café Cinema

This “soundtrack for an imaginary movie” by the Hamburg-based guitarist and film music composer Uli Kringler includes solo works, duos for the double bass and vibraphone, and some works revealing sophisticated instrumentation.
The interaction with the other musicians in his trio is marked by blind understanding, and even though the line-up of the other musicians on this album reads like a Who's Who of the German jazz scene, they always see themselves as Kringler's accompanists, in spite of their skill and their performing enthusiasm.
Kringler’s guitar, played with great virtuosity and yet calmly, remains at the forefront of this wonderful CD at all times.
