Tobias Burger - Und die Erde ist noch warm

Tobias Burger is a German singer-songwriter (born in East Berlin in 1960) and is one of the most interesting performers in this segment. Because of his refusal to toe the party line, the GDR powers-that-be barred him from performing in public and then from working altogether. His lyrics are engaged, they take a stand and comment on world events as well as personal destinies. Tobias Burger is not just a political songwriter. His spectrum is too broad for that, his language too lyrical, his music – and especially the guitar accompaniment – is too well-fashioned. Anyone with an ear for German songs that have a rare radiance and intensity should by all means lend an ear to Tobias Burger.
