Chapeau! François Sciortino
What François Sciortino pulls out of his musical hat is indeed more than merely impressive. French guitar artistry of the first water, charming and nonchalant, with a lightness that might make one overlook all too easily the sheer skill needed to play in this manner. François Sciortino, born in 1972, presents music without any musical boundaries in an unmistakably personal style, very much in the tradition of the French master guitarist Marcel Dadi. Sciortino, who studied at the Paris Conservatory, amalgamates the influences of ragtime, chansons, musettes, classical music and jazz. At his concerts and on his albums, he gives free rein to his musicality and sheer joy at playing. It’s fingerstyle for sheer pleasure and can be heard over and over again. Hats off before this artist!
