Alex Warner sings of memories, love and friendship - actually, nothing unusual for a singer/songwriter. However, the candid approach to songs is what makes Alex Warner such a special musician. Songwriting, for him, is not the quest for commercial success, but rather the search for the optimal song. And there are several of the sort on "Green To Blue." In spite of the musical influence of Peter Gabriel, Marc Cohn, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt and Tom Petty, he has always maintained his own style.
