Michael Langer - Homespun Groove

The line-up on „Homespun Groove“ has been carefully chosen and forms a bridge from Kapsberger‘s early baroque music, to new arrangements of the celtic harp music of O‘Carolan, to sensitive arangements of varied pop and fusion takes. „I sailed wildly through the centuries,“ Langers laughingly comments. In pieces from Spyro Gyro and the Yellow Jackets, he demonstrates his ability to get the nylon-strings of his guitar groovin‘; this comes vivdly alive with his solo-guitar version of Sting‘s hymn „Fragile“. Intersperssed are his own melodious compositions that reveal the tuneful, amourous side of the Austrian composer. „This recording was a very creative process. I believe that my playing has become even more individual, my own style even clearer,“ says Michael Langer refering to his own development.
