Duo Stoyanova is made up of Boyana and Keti Stoyanova from Bulgaria, a classical guitar duo that performs with interpretational maturity and flawless technical precision. “New York Fantasy” is a musical journey that begins with the eponymous, colorful composition that bears the subtitle “All The World In One City”. The two musicians demonstrate that they control their instruments with elegance and possess the wonderful ability of communicating directly with the listener. In the repertoire, cultures and rhythms meld, Hungarian dances juxtapose with French chansons, jazzy harmonies with romantic tremolos. With their sure-footed rhythmic organization and colorful sonorities, Duo Stoyanova is able to handle the most difficult passages with great skill and a sense of joy, deploying the entire spectrum of classical guitar techniques in the process.

Five young female guitarists entrance the listener with temperamental interpretations of well-known classical works. Following the great success of their debut CD “Melange” (order no. 319.1291.2), Gitarrissima’s second offering, “Tales and Dances” presents works from Vivaldi, Rossini, Brahms, Tschaikovsky, de Falla, Katchaturian and Lars Wüller. It is not merely a richly varied compilation, but also truly fascinating music.

“Gitarrissima” consists of five young female guitarists who met in Vienna. The quintet plays arrangements for a highly interesting instrumentation of three concert, one octave and one bass guitar and produces a sound with a special richness of color and a seldom heard orchestral density. “Gitarrissima” stands for woven miniatures and for string dances full of grace, playfulness and rhythmic concentration. “Melange” offers a broad repertoire, with works by Bach, Rossini, Franz Schubert, Chopin, Brahms, Vittorio Monti and Astor Piazzolla. The arrangements of concertos, songs and piano works are convincing thanks to the balance of the voices and their airy transparency, the unusual instrumentation offers up entirely new musical accents.

With “Evolución”, master guitarist Jens Wagner has come out with a recording devoted to the classical guitar music of the 20th century. The repertoire, including works of Torroba, Turina, Barrios, Ponce and Berio, requires the highest level of craftsmanship and artistic perfection from the performer. Jens Wagner, who is known as a guitarist with impeccable technique and highly polished musical aesthetics, goes beyond merely meeting all the musical demands, some quite extreme. His absolutely limitless expressiveness in all dynamic registers fascinates the listener. “Evolución” is a significant recording that documents the development of classical guitar in the 20th century and gives evidence of the Wagner’s outstanding status as a masterly soloist.

"Classic-Romantic Masterworks" presents popular guitar music from the 19th century, a Golden Age of guitar music: Jens Wagner gives a masterful and inspired interpretation of works by Mauro Giuliani, Fernando Sor, Anton Diabelli, Giulio Regondi and Christian Gottlieb Scheidler. His technique is without fault, the notes just magically sound from his fingers and come to delight our ears. What makes the recording special is the authentic sound, which is due to the instrument he uses: The Cologne guitar builder Bernhard Kresse made copies of original 19th-century instruments for Wagner, a concert guitar in E and a G guitar tuned in thirds. The sound of these unusual instruments is wonderfully clear and precisely recorded. On " Classic-Romantic Masterworks", we are made privy to music from the Golden Age of guitar music interpreted in masterful manner, both intellectual and entertaining, exciting and playful at the same time.
